Wooden sprung gives the highest energy return and is what tournament players prefer, but it needs an indoor, dry hall and periodic re-coating. PVC matt is cushioned, grippy, glare-free under lights and far easier to maintain, which is why most academies and schools choose it. We recommend based on your usage hours, not the price tag.
Cost is driven by four things: the surface you choose, the condition of your existing sub-base, how many courts you are building, and whether lighting, nets and fencing are in scope. For tournament play, aim for 9m clear height above the court with no beams, fans or fittings in the shuttle's flight path. Run-off should be 2m behind each baseline and 1m at the sides. Recreational courts can work with less, but low ceilings change how the game plays and we will tell you honestly at survey.
Usually yes, provided the concrete is level, cured and dry. We check level tolerance, moisture and cracking at survey. If the slab is uneven or damp, we execute the screed or correction first — laying PVC over a bad base is the single most common reason a court fails early.
Yes. Polypropylene interlocking tiles are built for open-air use — the modular structure drains water through and across, so the court dries quickly and does not warp in direct sun. The base below still needs a fall for drainage, which we set out during civil works.
Typically 7 to 21 days of installation per court, plus one to two days for line marking, quality check and handover. The range depends on the surface and how much civil correction the sub-base needs. Add roughly a week upfront for survey, drawings and quotation approval.
