Acrylic gives a truer, faster bounce and a more finished look, and is what most clubs and schools want. Tiles drain instantly, install in days and let you replace a damaged section rather than resurface. If your site floods or you need the court running quickly, tiles win. Otherwise acrylic is usually the better long-term court.
Often yes. Hairline cracks can be filled and the acrylic rebuilt over the top. Structural cracking, settlement or standing water means the base itself is failing, and resurfacing over it only buys a season. We core-check and tell you which one you have before quoting — we will not sell a coat of paint over a base problem.
A proper build-up runs a resurfacer, two to three cushion or filler coats and two colour coats, then line marking. Fewer coats look identical on handover day and wear through within a season or two. The coat count is the main reason two acrylic quotes can differ substantially, so compare specification, not just the total.
Yes. A half court needs roughly 15m × 14m plus run-off, and works well for schools, societies and corporate campuses where a full 28m × 15m will not fit. We mark it out on site during survey so you can see the actual footprint before committing.
It is the difference between a court that lasts and one that does not. Standing water breaks down acrylic and undermines the base. We set a slight uniform fall across the court during civil works — enough to shed monsoon rain, not enough to affect play or ball roll.
An acrylic court under normal school or club use typically needs a colour refresh on a periodic cycle, sooner if it runs all day in direct sun. Line marking can be refreshed on its own between full repaints, which is a much smaller job.
